1/ SURPLUS T-SHIRT
Every piece of clothing is handpicked and redesigned by the artist. Customised vintage means unique and exiting in only one copy.
Editions of prints are limited and ephemeral.
Surplus is a project on the verge of fashion visual poetry and artivism.
Magda Buczek reuses texts taken from her works and prints them on recycled clothes.
They are a product of excess in the fashion industry and art production. Surplus creates a new meaning and can be consumed again.
Magda Buczek is Warsaw-based multidisciplinary artist. Her projects often involve text, photography and tell multilayered stories about offline and online realities. Recurring themes are circling around post feminist theories, body and persona and modern technologies. Her artist books were awarded photo selfpublication of the year in Poland (2014), shortlisted at MACK London (2014) and Photofestival in Athens (2015). Her works were exhibited among others in Berlin, London, New York and Mexico city. Currently just about to start London Summer Intensive residency programme at Slade School of Arts. www.magdabuczek.com

2/ CONTEMPORARY LYNX MAGAZINE 1(7)2017
NEW ISSUE
Why is the issue so special?
* Hand-painted cover.
The street artist Sławek ZBIOK Czajkowski hand-paint 2,964 magazine covers, which comprise the issue. He transformed rows of blank white PVC sheets into striking works of colour. Every sheet was a component of a larger collective image — a 16 x 11 metre painting titled, ‘The World Is A Mess.’
* The topic of the issue
[…] this time we have turned our attention to street art and art occurring in various forms in a broadly understood public space. We would like to ask what public space is at the moment, we will think about the relations of street art and the net, and how artists engage directly in current political events, supporting protests, manifestations or simply start a discussion on the shape of the surrounding reality — say Editors -in-Chief.
